To solve operational problems faced at the 6 Wastewater Treatment Plants in the municipalities of Andradina and Castilho – SP, this work involved a series of technical studies to optimize the treatment performance of the systems, with solutions adapted to the local context and low operation and maintenance costs. The existing ponds had structural and process issues that were compromising effluent quality and causing operational difficulties. The study mapped these issues and presented a set of solutions and an action plan to address them. The proposed measures included operational adjustments to deal with process imbalances and structural measures for effluent polishing.
