Design of domestic wastewater treatment and reuse systems for the guesthouse of Instituto Zé Claudio e Maria. The site receives 300 to 600 people over 2 days during the region's pilgrimages and needs infrastructure to process the wastewater generated. Also considering the vulnerability of groundwater sources, the treatment systems had to be strategically conceived and distributed. Different systems were therefore designed for specific uses: dry toilets, constructed wetlands, a vermifilter and banana circles. Beyond the design, a guidebook was produced to support the local community in building the systems and replicating them elsewhere.
