Design of a decentralized sanitation system for a rural development in the municipality of Balsa Nova, district of São Luiz do Purunã (PR). Given the low-density residential modules planned, different configurations were developed for the decentralized  sanitation systems, which will initially rely on sludge collection by local desludging services, with the future possibility of a low-cost local faecal sludge treatment plant (planted drying beds).
